About Us
Tlaquepaque-Centro.com is a non-profit undertaking intended as an advertising-free visitors’ guide to Tlaquepaque. Its content and design was created, and continues to be maintained, by Richard and Kim Anderson. We are dedicated to providing reliable information for those seeking safe travel experiences and cultural tourism insights in Mexico.
We are grateful to Arturo Magaña, of Quinta Don José Boutique Hotel, for the initial idea, and we sincerely thank him for it.
Kim Anderson is a painter, whose work can be seen at kim4art.com. Richard And Kim live most of the time in Tlaquepaque.
We have visited Mexico for years, but after our first visit to Tlaquepaque in 2008, we knew that we wanted to spend as much time here as possible. We hope that our love of Tlaquepaque is apparent in these web pages and that through them others are encouraged to come and explore this very special place.
Richard Anderson is a cultural anthropologist with a special interest in the effects of globalization on Mexican traditional arts, a subject that he pursues through his own website, mexicanartscrafts.com.
We are also indebted to Tlaquepaque's Office of Tourism and its director, María José Sahagún Prieto, for supporting the project, and to Roberto J. Palacios, the Head of Institutional Relations of the Office of Tourism, for his translation of the text into Spanish.
